Inaugural Street Stock World Nationals on tap at ASRS!
Posted by JFooseThe Short Track Sim World on (134 Reads)

JFoose _WRITES "The American Sim Racing Series is having an open house and the entire sim racing community is welcome! After a successful 2007 season to date, and even more planned as summer turns to fall, the ASRS wants to show their appreciate to the entire sim racing community.

So the 1st Annual Street Stock World Nationals was born. The event is a 100 lap, 150 mile race at the Kentucky Speedway, using “Street Stock” type cars (Aero 88 mod). The event will run on Wednesday, August 15th and will begin with a drivers meeting at 8:15PM Eastern Time on Teamspeak. By the time the field takes the green flag, up to 36 cars will be on the 1.5 mile facility.

“This event has been on my mind for a good amount of time now, and I feel it is finally time to schedule it, and get the ball rolling” said ASRS President Jim Foose. “I’m sure someone will call me crazy for doing this, but I have thought it through for a very long time, and I am excited to see it happen. My hope is to see somewhere around 50 drivers going for the 36 positions open in the starting grid, and my hope is that we see a lot of new faces at this event, I feel that by going to the registration fee this year, people might be a little leery of joining right away, so here is a chance to get to see how an ASRS event is run, and see the level of professionalism demonstrated during the event by the ASRS drivers and officials. I think we have a great product and it is well worth the time myself and the other officials have put into it, and I feel drivers will feel the same way at the conclusion of this event, at the end of the event, I feel we will have many new drivers in the ASRS”. “I can’t see why anyone would not want to become a regular ASRS member (which includes paying a $5 registration fee) after they get a look at what we have to offer here, I’m definitely excited!”

JFoose _WRITES "After a long wait, Toledo Speedway has finally arrived. While some last minute updates are being made the track, Short Track Sim would like to give you a sneak peak of what the ˝ mile high banked oval has to offer. The design team, featuring Jim Foose (Mansfield 2006) and J.R. Continually Adding New Things...
Posted by PBoswellThe Short Track Sim World on (209 Reads)

PBoswell _WRITES "The Late Model Mod V2, several templates (official templates and templates created by Falcon), and a track have now been added to the download section. We have also added a new forum for the up and coming Outlaw Late Model Mod.

We have also added a finances page. Feel free to donate or buy an advertisement. If you have any questions on it contact an admin and they will help you out. We have listed the costs to maintain the site, in hopes that the community can see that we are not trying to make a profit from this site.

Please continue to check back as more things are added!

Thanks for all the support we have gotten so far!"

Welcome to ShortTrackSim.com!
Posted by PBoswellThe Short Track Sim World on (170 Reads)

PBoswell _WRITES "Hello, we would like to welcome everyone here to ShortTrackSim.com. As many of you may know, the absolute best online Short Track community on the SimRacing world, ShortTrackCentral, is no more. Therefore, we have gotten together with the help of several volunteers to attempt to recreate the glory of STC. This new site, STS, is now in it's infancy. We are working diligently to post downloads, news, paints, and more. We will soon have a web forum up as well, which was always one of the more popular sections of the old STC. Please check back often as we are constantly updating.

Thank you all!

The ShortTrackSim.com Staff"
